PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY ORDER 015&016

The Public Health Order 2021-015 Clarifying the Mandate to Wear Masks in Public, Schools, and Businesses due to COVID-19. The purpose of PHEO 2021-015 is to prevent community spread of COVID-19 on the Navajo Nation.

 

Additionally, PHEO 2021-016 reemphasizing “Safer at Home” order and Gathering Limits, and discontinuing Daily Curfew. These measures are intended to ensure an effective response to the COVID-19 Pandemic by restricting movement of individuals on the Navajo Nation.

 

The Navajo Nation remains vigilant as rates of the Delta and other COVID-19 variants increase across the United States.

Low Risk

Activities with members you live with are the safest. Outdoor activities where you can maintain 6 feet distance from others, and visiting less popular outdoor areas are safer. Be sure to check if restrooms are available and how often they are cleaned.
Safest Activities:
  • Bike riding
  • Visiting parks
  • Hiking, walking, or running on trails
  • Gathering outdoors with people you live with, such as a picnic

Medium Risk

Activities that are indoors are considered a higher risk. Businesses are reopening and offering indoor dining, but are taking precautions to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.
Medium Risk Activities:
  • Outdoor dining
  • Uncrowded shopping center or museum
  • Uncrowded barber shop or salon

Highest Risk

There are still activities that you should avoid because they are still risky. Large events where social distancing can’t be maintained should be avoided. The more people that are in one space the more likely someone is infected.
Highest Risk Activities:
  • Dance club
  • Indoor restaurant or bar
  • Indoor shopping center
  • Indoor movie theater
  • Indoor exercise class
  • Sports events
  • Playing contact sports such as soccer, football, and basketball
